Not real sure if The SouthEastern Backpackers talked much this week about backpacking. There were just too many other issues to talk about. Golden has given up chocolate for Lent and Rylan talks about a kettlebell exercise class he is using to prepare himself for the next week on the Appalachian Trail.
Rylan also talks about the pinewood derby race in his cub scout pack and the crash of the computer keeping score right at the end of the last race. But then when he got home after the races sitting on his front porch was a hammock that Shug sent over!
When the real backpacking section of the conversation got underway they talked about Knols educational opportunities and their videos on their web site. Eldorado let us know about the JetBoil recall and the web site we can use to check our stoves. Shug passed along some information to Rylan about tarp tensioners; making them from instructions in the hammock forums or purchasing them from Jack R Better. Shug also suggested using segmented pad extenders for insulation when hanging in a hammock. Lori passes along the secret to her roasted tomato dip and it can be found at A Fork In The Trail. And the show finished with lots of laughs about recent iTunes reviews.
Enjoy the trail!
