Golden has been talking with Dane about Dane's and Connie's mental preparations for their AT through-hike, and he shared some of their conversations. We talked a little about my preparations for an upcoming Cub Scout trip to Huntsville where we'll camp for two nights in a state park and then spend Sunday at the space and rocket center. We also discussed a few emails, but we spent most of our time talking about our trips to The Len Foote Hike Inn. The Inn is a 5-mile hike from Amicalola Falls State Park at the Southern end of the Appalachian Trail. Golden and his daughter were there for the Winter equinox, and his pictures follow this post. I'm introducing my boys to backpacking, so I'm thinking of taking them there in the Fall.
