Recently, a new hiking friend pointed out that we referenced "Dads involved in scouting" in the intro to our podcast. She wanted us to know that we left out the Women involved in scouting. In an attempt to make up for our blunder, this show includes only emails from women hikers. Eventually we will re-record the intro so as not to offend anyone else .
The rest of the conversation is all about hiking and camping with kids. The boys and I were recently Cub Scout camping at a state park in Huntsville, and we went to the Space & Rocket Center as a group on the last day of the trip . We did some hiking around the state park, and I was assessing how well my 6 & 8 year olds could handle a short backpacking trip. So Golden discussed his early Len Foote Hike Inn hike with his daughter and the planning he's done for an upcoming Pinhoti hiker with her. He'll update us on that trip next week.
