Golden and I were on his back porch last night smokin cigars and talking about our upcoming backpacking trip on the Appalachian Trail. We are in the planning stages right now. What section we will do, who is coming along, how many miles we are going to hike, cold weather gear, finding someone to shuttle us from where we are dropping off the car to where we will start hiking, water availability, and on, and on, and on!
We recorded our conversation about the planning stages of a hike and past events that should weigh in when planning out a backpacking trip. I think the only site we mentioned is the AT Conference Online. We did talk about two outfitters along the trail. The Mountain Crossings Store in Georgia and The Mt. Rogers Store in Virginia.
