Leaving for another hike soon Rylan & Golden have a discussion about stuff they're trying out and changes in their gear. Rylan is using his iPhone for several things on this hike and he is trying out some different options for keeping it charged. Also using a hammock and tarp instead of a tent Rylan will be working with his pack a little differently. Golden recently got his repaired pack back from ULA and he is thinking that trekking poles will be in his future again soon. Golden will be taking his new GPS device on this trip to log all the relevant data. JJ Lay passed along several links for using GPS data. He said you can convert the GPS data to a map format with EasyGPS or GPSBabel. After that you can add pictures and video to the map and share it with friends. JJ also gave us a link to the SolLight. This is a solar rechargeable light built into a water bottle lid. It's pretty neat!
