61 - Skunk Suit PDF Print E-mail

This week starts off with a snack. The folks at Jerky.com sent over some pineapple jerky to sample. Since Rylan has a cold and can't taste anything he set his aside for later but Golden sure enjoyed his. Chad in NC had a new suggestion to reduce pack weight. He claims one only needs a skunk costume when hiking. As you need food or gear just wear the skunk suit, enter a campsite and take what you want. No one will bother a skunk! Chris left a comment on the site with a suggestion on how to repair a tarp grommet like Rylan tore up recently. He does a lot outdoors with his family of six. In the future we are hoping for good suggestions from Chris on how to handle the outdoors with children! This weeks album art is from a Grand Tetons hike that Chris did. Ken in Michigan has been playing with our pictures again. This time he added a ghost to the album art from episode 58. Thanks Ken! Britt recently made himself a penny stove. His next project is going to be the fire piston. He passed along this video. Jim in Arkansas has extended an invitation to the SouthEastern Backpackers for a hike together and gave us this link to a report on one of his recent trips. Apparently marshmallow roasting is a hereditary thing. Burnt marshmallow Mike in NC has observed his own roasting techniques in his son! Mike also noticed that Shug's sector 7 appears in the movie The Transformers too. Maybe Shug has another job he can't tell us about?

Enjoy The Trail!
