An important announcement starts off this weeks podcast. As one of the steps in transitioning to a new web site the podcast feed has to change. The feed is just information telling iTunes or other pod-catchers where to go to get the latest episode. In next weeks podcast Rylan and Golden will be talking about new food ideas for their upcoming hike on the Appalachian Trail and that will be the first episode published with the new feed. So if next Monday evening the SouthEastern Backpackers aren't available to you please

and let him know how you subscribe to the show so he can begin trouble shooting. If all goes well this should be a seamless transition for iTunes subscribers.
There was a little snacking tonight on the jambalaya mix from Jay in LA. As it turns out Jay thought about sending along a Cajun hooked on phonics booklet with all the food he sent but he wanted to see how badly Rylan and Golden would butcher the pronunciations on their own. He wasn't disappointed!
In this weeks emails Brian in Cincinnati tells about a "Hands on" hiking educational program put on by the Natural Bridge State Park in Kentucky. While Rylan and Golden are on the AT Chad in NC will be on a hammock hangers weekend with Ed Spears of Spear Hammocks. Ritz on Hammock Forums passed along a picture of a double-decker hammock he posted. Commando Jason in AR asked that we pass along the site Arkansas Backcountry.com and this link to an inexpensive hammock he has already used. This weeks album art comes from Commando Jason and his Mt Blanca hike. Jason shares with us the mistakes they made and the trouble they had but it hasn't discouraged them a bit since they are going back!
Jim in NY finishes things off with a cliff hanger. He said soon he will have to tell us about a trip where the temperature dropped to zero and he finished off by saying fortunately he turned off our podcast. Hopefully we will find out more soon! Jim wanted to pass along the forums at Canoe Country.com too.
Enjoy the trail!
