I ordered several new pieces of equipment for the upcoming October Appalachian Trail hike.   Everything is in now so I've been out front playing with it.  I got a 3/4 length underquilt for my hammock from Jacks R Better.  They have an interesting way to suspend and adjust it under my hammock and it got me thinking.  I carry a short cord to hang my platypus in camp to have running water or to suspend it under my shoulder while I fill it with a pump. Well I came up with another use for that cord now.  I can use it as a sling and suspend my iPhone from the hammock's ridge line.  The height is adjustable and now I can lay tucked in and watch a video or read a book on auto-scroll.  Actually I use several iPhone apps while camping and this entertainment center sling allows me to lay back and watch a video while cranking the handle on a small generator to recharge the phone too.
